In August 2022 the “Camp Lejune Justice Act of 2022” or “PACT act of 2022” was signed into law allowing military veterans and civilians to file lawsuits against the U.S. Government due to exposure of contaminated water. The bill allows people (including children in utero) who lived on the base in North Carolina from August 1953 through December 31, 1987 and who suffered injuries to file claims in North Carolina.
Veterans, civilians and their families have reported multiple side effects including:

- Infertility
- Miscarriage
- Neurobehavioral effects
- Parkinson’s disease
- Renal toxicity
- Kidney and liver damage
- Lupus
- Nerve Damage
- Birth Defects
- Cardiovascualr Defects
- Death
The Federal government has issued a cost estimate for the PACT ACT at $667 Billiion. SLG currently represents hundreds of victims of Camp Lejune.
